At the end of March, Portugal executed a bill meant to end the Golden Visa regime, which implied an investment program to simplify residence permits for immigrants who decide to invest –under specific terms and conditions– in that country. Even when this decision points at a shift in the policies oriented at investments in real estate, new announcements are expected for the coming months, whereby Portugal will continue to be an attractive jurisdiction in a variety of aspects.
