The Argentinean government continues at a standstill in what regards its plans to have the Congress approve the so-called “unexpected profits”, a tax intended for companies that record taxable net profits over one billion pesos. On the other hand, a similar project has shown advances in Italy with the tax on benefits obtained “like manna from heaven”. Likewise, the United Kingdom is now walking along the same path, with a provisional tax applied to energy corporations whose gains have experienced an unexpected increase as the result of prices rising due to the war situation.
