The situation in Latin America when it comes to our industry is well-known: several countries have already implemented a so-called wealth tax, and others are considering it. Argentina and Bolivia are two of the countries that have imposed it, while Mexico and Chile are considering bills proposed in Parliament; in Peru, this tax is likely to be implemented, depending on the result of the runoff election between Pedro Castillo and Keiko Fujimori.
This is why those with greater assets and taxpayers, in general, should keep a lookout for the current and upcoming fiscal pressure.
In this article, Martín Litwak wrote about international taxation and planning trends in the region, suggesting that current wealth structures should be studied carefully to anticipate any possible tax policy changes which several countries may try to apply, encouraged by the pandemic. Besides, in this article for Infobae (in Spanish) Martín has explained in which cases wealth planning is important, as well as what should be taken into account when it comes to implementing it. We hope you find these articles interesting.
